He praised students for their achievements, including winning a silver medal at the international iGEM synthetic biology competition in Paris and excelling in the National Economic Challenge in China. He also noted the school’s incorporation of AI teaching and the establishment of a makerspace to foster creativity and problem-solving skills.
Reflecting on shared experiences since 2019, the Principal reminded graduates of their unique identities symbolized by personalized stones and encouraged them to serve society with love and pursue their dreams confidently. He concluded by expressing gratitude to the school community and supporters, wishing everyone success and well-being.
Our guest of honor, Ms. Angela Tang, then presented certificates to the graduates and delivered an inspiring speech. She began with a story about a boy who faced many challenges and often missed opportunities, yet was given a chance to show up without judgment. The message was clear: never give up, no matter the obstacles, and keep persevering.
Ms. Tang expressed her gratitude for attending this girls’ school, which provided her with valuable opportunities to shape her future. She shared her personal journey of overcoming difficulties to become the first female works supervisor and later a top surveyor through hard work and determination.
She concluded by emphasizing the importance of the letter “Y” and its “Hs”: Be Healthy, Be Happy, Be Hopeful, and Be Helpful. Ms. Tang encouraged all graduates to discover their own “Hs,” whether in the years ahead or decades into the future.
The vote of thanks was delivered by our Graduate Representative, Carol Chen. She delivered a heartfelt speech reflecting on the resilience and growth of her cohort. She thanked teachers, parents, friends, and staff for their unwavering support throughout a challenging journey marked by the pandemic and personal obstacles. Carol encouraged everyone to give their best effort from the start, reminding graduates to embrace ambition and carry forward the values of hard work, curiosity, and service.
Then came the memorable moment of the Speech Day, the Passing-on-the-Light Ceremony, a meaningful tradition where our graduates shared their hopes, values, and legacy with the younger students. The celebration ended on a high note with captivating performances, delighting the audience and adding a joyful finish to the day.
The evening was filled with both reflection and celebration as graduates happily reconnected with their teachers, classmates, and friends. We warmly congratulate the proud parents, families, and educators, and above all, the graduates who shone brightly today. Wishing them a future full of joy and great achievements.
