獨立思考培博見    自主探究養新知

 

疫情持續，令小學家長在子女升中選校時面對重重障礙。有見及此，本校於十一月二十日舉辦中一自行分配學位簡介會，讓家長帶同女兒到校參與講座，藉此加深了解本校的教育理念。當天簡介會獲家長熱烈支持，報名人數更超出禮堂座位上限，因此當天除禮堂外，亦安排家長前往學生活動中心及課室觀看直播。

 

本校梁以豪校長率先為家長介紹本校學習理念、「保祿人」精神、學生成就與學習機會、教學新常態及面試心得。本校校風淳樸，秉承基督教化精神，核心價值強調「追求真理、秉行公義、力行仁愛、愛惜生命、鞏固家庭」，重視「仁愛及服務」，讓學生從多元活動中學習服務和奉獻。

 

本校近年一直致力推廣「獨立思考」及「自主學習」，本年度更加建學生活動中心(SAC)，小息期間更會播放由學生製作的影片及學校提醒事項。為鼓勵學生能主動分析他們的學習需要，並確立學習目標，學會辨析學習資源並選取合適的學習策略。中一級每個循環周特設立兩節自主學習時段，校長、副校長及老師會陪伴同學溫習，教授學習心得。此外，不少學生亦會於課後留校繼續自修，與同學互相砥勵，營造校園良好的學習氣氛。梁校長更於簡介會期間，邀請學生分享學習心得及成為「保祿人」的感受。

 

其後，曹副校長介紹本校學與教模式。本校主要教學語言為英語，除中國語文及中國歷史外，所有科目均使用英語上課。此外，為配合學生的學習需要及營造英語學習環境，本校特為初中同學設「大姐姐」及外聘導師課後輔導計劃，增加同學運用英語與人溝通的機會，以提升及鞏固英語能力。

 

接著，方副校長為家長及學生介紹自行分配學位申請程序，申請日期為2022 年 1 月 3 日至 2022 年 1 月 17 日下午 4:30。本校收生準則比例為學業成績60%、面試表現30%及課外活動10%，小五及小六操行必須B級或以上。有意申請者可參閱本校網站，以了解更多詳情。

 

梁校長、三位副校長及兩位助理校長解答家長及學生問題，在場家長反應熱烈。簡介會後，梁校長及一眾學校大使隨後在學生活動中心與家長及小六學生進行交流，以增加對本校的認識及交流培養女兒的心得，為是次的中一自行分配學位簡介會畫上圓滿句號。

 

Admission Talk 2021

 

An admission talk was held on 20^th November in our school hall. It’s our honour to have the presence of a lot of young girls’ parents who treasure this chance to share our school’s mission and vision.

 

Our principal, Mr. Leung, introduced our school’s mission and vision, the qualities of Pope Paul girls and their achievements in different domains. We have been upholding our beliefs in education and prepare our girls to serve the society with love.

 

Independent Learning is our school’s major concern. Providing students with different learning scenarios, we aim to encourage them to review their own learning needs and set goals for their studies. From the guests’ invaluable feedback, the sharing session by students is particularly impressive.

 

Our vice-principal, Mrs. Tso, outlined the teaching and learning frameworks and strategies in our school. Being renowned for our well-established English learning environment and profound history, we are favoured by parents and girls in our district.

 

Our vice-principal, Mr. Fong, briefed the guests about the application procedure. Applications are welcomed from 3^rd January to 17^th January 2022. Applicants will be assessed by their academic performance, Interview performance and ECA performance which weigh 60%, 30% and 10% respectively. Only applicants with conduct grade B or above will be considered. More information is available in our school website.

 

A causal interaction between the guests and our girls marked the end of the talk. Our school ambassadors, students from S3 to S5, farewelled the guests and shared with them some of their school experiences.
